Howson’s Groove – Stand Up EP [Fat! Records]

Over the past twelve months, Howson’s Groove have been pulling all the punches with their UK focussed hybrid sound, merging the rough and smooth of House and Garage, with the grit and guile of Grime and Hardcore.
These new contenders based in South London are currently being championed by the likes of Rob Da Bank, Skream and DJ EZ. They’ve been going from strength to strength ever since scoring an official remix for the one and only, Todd Terry on Southern Fried Records.

Their no holds barred Can’t Explain EP, released at the end of 2014 on Love & Other Records, has served as their most recent highlight. Premiered by both DJ Mag and Eton Messy, it earned a very rare 10/10 from Mixmag, plus a huge thumbs up from The Magician. We are now duly ready to beat the drum for their next knock out release, the soaring old skool strokes of Stand Up and the rugged house swing of Turn Me.

I think it’s fair to say this promising and exciting duo will not be throwing in the towel, anytime soon.
